Terroir Al Limit Arbossar 2022
Cellar for 20 years or more. Decant for up to an hour before serving. This Catalonian Carignan wine opens with a medley of red and blue berries, crushed sage, rosemary and minerals. It was harvested from the Arbossar vineyard in the Torroja del Priorat region of Spain. The Carignan vines here are over a century old and grow out of a steep, windy plot of land, just 1.6 hectares in size. Terroir al Límit is a meshing of minds - a joint project between the German vintner Dominik Huber and South African enologist Eben Sadie. Their first vintage was released in 2001, and two years later came the first edition of Arbossar, the boldest wine that they offer. It has always been a pure, terroir-driven wine, made without oak-ageing in order to fully express the special region of Priorat. Arbossar introduces itself with a blast of vibrant, crisp fruit. Flavours of raspberry and cranberry meet minerals and smoke with every sip. It courses with electric acidity, and grippy tannins make for a sinewy, wiry mouthfeel. It is a perfect representation of the rugged and often unforgiving Priorat landscape. Consider drinking this wine with a smokey beef stew, meatballs in a spicy sauce, or hearty vegetable dishes.

Terroir Al Limit Les Manyes 2021
Cellar for 30 years or more. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Les Manyes is the pinnacle of Terroir al Límit’s line of red wines. It is alive with scents of smoke, wet stone and pungent black fruits. The fruits for this grape were harvested from a monastery in the Montsant mountains, a rugged, lonely landscape and a haven for hermits. Terroir al Límit is a winery that pays strong attention to terroir and its origin, and this is the perfect example of that. It was founded in 2001 by two friends, the German Dominik Huber and the South African Eben Sadie, who met while working on the Perez family’s vineyards at Mas Martinet, in Catalonia. They decided to make this region their home and set up shop in the esteemed appellation of Priorat. Les Manyes is a taste of the mountainside, brimming with flavours of wild herbs, thick black cherry, strong minerality and smoke. It is made from 100% Garnacha - this time of the “hairy” variety. Garnacha Peluda is an unusual variant of the Garnacha Tinta, sporting fine hair on the underside of its leaves that helps to conserve moisture. This is a wine with excellent structure and acidity, leading to a finish that coats the mouth with a pleasant bitterness. This is a great wine for pairing with desserts, such as tiramisu, or lightly seasoned red meat.

Terroir Al Limit Historic Blanc 2023
Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few years. No need to decant before serving. The Terroir Històric Blanc is packed with herbal aromas of sage and low-lying mountain shrubs, which mingle with sharp notes of citrus rind and orange blossom. It is crafted from the traditional white grape varieties of Priorat: 75% Grenache Blanc and 25% Macabeo. Terroir al Límit is a joint project between Dominik Huber and Eben Sadie, who met while working at Mas Martinet, a Catalonian vineyard owned by the Perez family. In 2001 they began their own winery, with a focus on specific terroirs around Priorat. However, in 2015 they expanded their focus and launched Terroir Històric, a line that seeks to express the region of Priorat in its entirety. This wine was made from fruits sourced from 9 separate villages across the region of Priorat. It is vibrant and juicy in the mouth, coursing with acidity, notes of lemon and orange, and a strong herbal undercurrent. The fruits were aged in a neutral stainless steel tank for 6 months before bottling - Terroir al Límit do not oak their wines, instead they focus on creating the purest fruit flavours possible. The finish is long, satisfying and slightly creamy. This wine will pair well with pork, chicken, or dishes rich in herbs and cream.

What is the detection limit or limit of quantification?
The detection limit is the lowest concentration of a substance that can be reliably detected but not necessarily quantified. It is typically defined as the concentration at which the signal is distinguishable from the background noise. The limit of quantification, on the other hand, is the lowest concentration of a substance that can be accurately measured and quantified with a known level of certainty. It is usually higher than the detection limit and is determined by the precision and accuracy of the analytical method being used.

Terroir Al Limit Pedra de Guix 2022
Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour and half. Based in Catalonia, Spain, Terroir al Limit is a project born in the early 2000s, from the collaboration between Dominik Huber, a German economics student, Eben Sadie, a famous South African winemaker, and Jaume Sabaté, a Spanish investor. The intent, from the beginning, was to enhance the enormous terroir potential of the Priorat wine region and the great Spanish viticultural heritage. The winery can take advantage of centuries-old vines located up to 800 meters above sea level on Licorella soils that retain heat, allowing the grapes to slowly ripen. Pedra de Guix is a blend of equal parts Grenache blanc, Macabeu, and Pedro Ximenez, which ages for 2 years on the lees in 500-liter barrels and a further year in foudre (without yeasts). The presence of the Pedro Ximenez grape in particular gives it a light oxidative character that vaguely recalls a sherry. The wine has a clear and limpid color with intense straw tones. On the nose, it reveals a complex aromatic profile with notes of yellow apple and dried fruit, white flowers and honey, aromatic herbs and fennel, followed by hints of yeast. On the palate, it is intense and velvety, complex and vigorous. It has a well-balanced acidic vein and a savory character with saline aromas. The finish is very long and recalls mineral notes. It is a must-try with shellfish and seafood.

What is the detection limit or limit of detection?
The detection limit, also known as the limit of detection, is the lowest concentration of a substance that can be reliably detected by a particular analytical method. It represents the smallest amount of analyte that can be distinguished from the background noise of the measurement. Detection limits are important in determining the sensitivity and reliability of an analytical technique, as they indicate the smallest quantity of a substance that can be accurately measured. Scientists strive to minimize detection limits in order to improve the accuracy and precision of their measurements.

What is the difference between limit and limit behavior?
The limit of a function at a point is the value that the function approaches as the input approaches that point. It is a specific value that the function is getting closer to. On the other hand, limit behavior refers to the overall trend or pattern of the function as the input values approach positive or negative infinity. It describes how the function behaves in the long run or at the extremes of its domain. In summary, the limit is a specific value at a point, while limit behavior describes the overall trend of the function as the input values approach certain extremes.

How do I determine the local slope using a table and limit calculation?
To determine the local slope using a table and limit calculation, you can first create a table with values of x approaching the given point where you want to find the slope. Then, calculate the corresponding y-values using the function. Next, find the average rate of change between the points on either side of the given point by dividing the change in y by the change in x. Finally, take the limit of this average rate of change as the interval approaches zero to find the local slope at the given point.
